Time Trialling

Cycling Time Trials (CTT)

Cycling Time Trials (CTT) is the National Governing Body for time trials in England, Scotland and Wales. CTT is based on a system of club affiliation with events organised by affiliated clubs. Many of them have categories for riders over 40 using the VTTA standards (see below).

BMCR is an affiliated club for CTT and BMCR members can select BMCR as their first claim club when entering CTT events.

Veterans Time Trials Association (VTTA)

The Veterans Time Trials Association(VTTA) promotes racing against the clock for riders over 40. VTTA have a system of standard times for each age over 40 for all the standard distances. To work out the result of an event, each rider’s time is compared to their standard and the difference (±) is credited. The winner is the rider with the best adjusted time.

BMCR and VTTA hold a joint event each year (the Welland Cup).

BMCR Membership

BMCR is an affiliated club for CTT which means that BMCR members may select BMCR as their first claim club when entering CTT events.

BMCR organises an annual Time Trial Championships for BMCR members for which a BMCR National Champion jersey is awarded (for each category with at least three entrants).

BMCR also organises one or two team time trial events a year which are for road bikes only.
