Anti-Doping

BMCR is fully committed to the UKAD Anti-Doping Rules

BMCR is fully committed to clean sport and Rule of Racing 33 states that BMCR is fully compliant with the UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) Rules.  This means that all members (including temporary members) are subject to the rules regardless of the level at which they participate.  All members are bound by these rules from the start of their membership (and for a minimum of twelve months following). You can find the UK Anti-Doping Rules here.

2021 World Anti-Doping Code

It is important that all athletes and athlete support personnel are aware of how the World Anti-Doping Code impacts them. For all information on the code, please visit UKAD’s website here.

Under the 2021 Code, an athlete may be classified as being “International-Level”, “National-Level” or a “Recreational Athlete” based on their competition level. Further information on these different categories is available on the UKAD website. Most BMCR members, who just compete in BMCR events under BMCR rules, will be classified as Recreational Athletes.

100% me – Supporting athletes to be clean

100% me is UKAD’s education and information programme, designed to help athletes throughout their sporting journey. It is to enable any athlete to say it’s 100% me and mean it.

For more information on what this means, visit UKAD’s website here. UKAD’s 100% me Clean Sport App can also be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Strict liability

BMCR supports the principle of strict liability, which means that athletes are solely responsible for what is found in their system, regardless of how it got there, or whether there was any intention to cheat.
