The Ron Day Memorial MK Bowl races – Race 6 – 13th June 2023 (Sponsored by Church Lane Creative).
What a beautiful night for a bike race. Warm and sunny. Low numbers sadly, but we ran two races going outside the gates onto the larger circuit after 30 mins.
The ABCD race had a few attacks but all were brought back, windy conditions probably made it hard for attacks to survive. The race ended in a sprint finish which was won by Glenn McMenamin.
The EFGL race was split on the lap that the race went outside the gates, James Stewart and Steve James breaking away with all other riders on their own for a while before a chasing group of 3 formed. The break stayed away and despite Steve attacking James on the last lap, James powered to the finish 11 seconds ahead of Steve to take the win.
