Our last race of the series tonight. THANK YOU so much to all riders who came out to race tonight and during the series. It’s been a difficult year, but I have enjoyed it as always.
It was wonderful to have 16 starters on a beautiful sunny evening tonight staying inside the bowl racing clockwise. Lots of efforts to break off the front were made by several riders but all were brought back until lap 18 when Toks Adesanya jumped away holding the bunch off for 3 laps until lap 21 when the bunch all came back together. A fast race tonight with a real mixture of age categories from A to G.
The race was won by an impressive sprint as always from Martin Quill, followed by Aleck Hornshaw, Lewis king and Paul Bird. Congratulations to all our winners
A huge congratulations to our 2026 Ron Day Memorial cup winner Keith Snook (pictured) who won his age category the most during this season, a well deserved win from a dedicated and supportive Tuesday bowl rider.
The points series was presented at the start, well done to everyone and a huge thank you to Grant Phillips from the Bikebus:gep-international for sponsoring this. Full results for this can be found on the BMCR website, please contact me for your prize if you wasn’t able to collect it tonight.
Lastly a huge thank you as always to our really supportive helpers Dick Selley and Chris Londy for setting up, to our first aider Peter Nolan who I am glad has been really bored this year with the great safe racing we have had and to Gordon Wiseman, for marshalling yet again. We appreciate you all.
Thank you for the bottle of fizz, we will enjoy that. Wishing you all a safe and fun rest of season and we hope to be back in 2027.
