A sunny but chilly and windy night saw the opening of this year’s season. Not bad for an evening in April though.
We ran two races with a total of 19 riders staying inside the bowl tonight. The ABCD race stayed together until lap 10 when Gavin Howell and Bobby McGlue jumped off the front leaving the rest of the bunch in 1’s and 2’s. An impressive ride from the Ride Revolution boys who went on to lap the field with the exception of Michael DArcy who did a great ride staying not far behind them for the entire race and Lewis King also riding well to hold them off behind him. Gavin won the sprint from Bobby to take the win.
The EFGH race mainly stayed together tonight with a slight split around lap 6. Dean Sibthorpeas strong as ever, won the bunch sprint. Congratulations to all our winners.
It was great to see everyone and be back at the bowl, thank you to all riders for supporting the event and to our helpers Gordon Wiseman for marshalling, Dick Selley and Chris Londy
for setting up and our first aiders Peter Nolan and Rhianna.
Tell you team mates and bring them along to ride, lets make this year a great one for our sport and the bowl.
Please can you volunteer or bring along a volunteer for one week of the season so that we can run the races over the larger circuits. We need six helpers every week to do this. Please let me know which event you can support. Thank you.
