MK BOWL RACING.

The Ron Day MK bowl circuit races (sponsored by Church Lane Creative). Week 1 – 8th June 2021FANTASTIC to see everyone and be back at the bowl tonight. Even the sun shone for us all evening.Well done to all the riders and welcome to all our new members. Such a shame to see the crash on the last stretch before the finish. Thank goodness nothing serious, hope those involved are not too sore and heal well. Massive thank you to all the helpers.

BMCR TRACK CHAMPS 2021

We have a provisional date for the Track Champs at Newport Velodrome: Friday 29th to Sunday 30th October.

The timetable can’t be confirmed yet, as indoor velodromes are just starting to re-open, and we don’t yet know what Covid precautions will be required. We hope to be able to run all the usual individual and team championship events.

BMCR RETURN TO RACING – TEST EVENTS AND CHAMPIONSHIPS

Test Events

Before we return fully to road and circuit racing on 21 June, we plan to hold at least four ‘Test Events’ to try out and review our Covid precautions at races:

Sunday 30th May – Sevale Road Race at Welland, Worcs  – 60+ and women only (Stallard series)

Monday 31st May – Moda Circuit Races at Darley Moor – all age categories

Sunday 13th June – Fleche Waltonne Road Race at Husbands Bosworth, Leics – ABCD only (Stallard series)

Entries will open on RiderHQ for the Velo Schils circuit races, the Sevale RR and the Moda circuit races tomorrow 14 April at 8.00 pm.

Entries will open for the Fleche Waltonne RR on 18 April at 5.00 am (the usual 8 weeks before).

National Championships

As all the 2021 Road Race Championships were due to be held between late May and early July, and rescheduling them all in a crowded late season calendar would be difficult, we have decided not to hold road race championships this year.

We hope that the other national championship events can all go ahead:

Sat 17 July – ABC Crit Champs – Bath

Sat 4 Sept (prov date) – DEFGH & Women Crit Champs – Darley Moor / Shrewsbury

Sun 5 Sept – Time Trial Champs – Napton, Warwicks

Sun 19 Sept – Hill Climb Champs – Vernham Dean, Hampshire

? October – Track Champs – Newport, S Wales

Those planning to organise other BMCR races after 21 June please contact your Regional Events Coordinator now to agree the date and get the event listed on RiderHQ.

As always, we are extremely grateful to those who promote races for BMCR.

Mike Amery

National Events Coordinator, on behalf of the BMCR National Executive

Zwift Race Series

Wanted to give you as much notice as possible!

In the last few minutes I’ve received confirmation from British Cycling that a private four round series of BMCR Zwift races – Not Meet-ups, will go ahead starting from this Sunday at 10am.

These will run every other Sunday until the 25th April. This challenge is organised as a collaboration between BMCR and BC for masters over 40.

Appreciate the weather is getting better and we’d all rather be outside but if you wanted a bit of friendly competition then please get in touch and check rider hq for entry details.

Please note that these events are only available to those with the private link and will not be on zwift power nor in the companion app as a meet-up.As an example the first of these links is provided below.

There will be three groups per event based on BMCR age related category. Each group will have different kit and will start at the same time in the usual frenetic zwift way! Channel your inner MVP!

Group A is BMCR A and B categories Group B is BMCR C and D categories Group C is BMCR EFGH&W categories

Everyone starts together! https://www.zwift.com/events/view/1863925…

Any questions give me a shout.

Best, Nigel
