The Ron Day MK Bowl Series – Race 3

Another beautiful sunny evening for bowl racing. With enough helpers signing up at the last minute (thank you so much), we were able to go out of the gates after 20 mins racing inside the bowl tonight.

Both races saw a break form part way through with 2 riders Gavin Howell and James Conolly forming the break in the ABCD race, staying away with Gavin taking the win from James after riding away on the last lap with Lee Block taking the bunch sprint. Michael D’Arcy unfortunately crashed out mid way through the race at high speed but was fortunately not too badly injured and was quickly attended to by our dedicated first aider Peter Nolan. Wishing you a speedy recovery Michael DArcy and thank you to Peter for his great care as always.

3 riders, John Lacey, John Beckett and Barry Bonnett formed a break in the EFGH race staying away with the win going to John Lacey, with an impressive bunch sprint won by Roland Elston for 4th.

Congratulations to all our winners and to our Prime winners Lewis King and Barry Bonnett.

A huge thank you as always to our hard working people setting up and taking down the outside circuit and to all the marshals, we could not run these races without you and really do appreciate your support.

The Ron Day MK Bowl Series – Race 2

A chilly night saw some brave racers (some in winter kit) take to the circuit tonight. With lots of helpers we were able to use the larger circuit out of the top gates after 20 mins inside the bowl.

Both races stayed mainly together tonight with a great safe race. The ABCD was won by James Conolly and the EFGH by James Stewart who also won the EFGH prime. Lewis King taking the ABCD prime.

Thank you all our valued helpers tonight and a special thanks to Dick Selley and Chris and those who helped for all the hard work setting up and taking in the safety equipment for outside the gates. This is now a huge job with the new risk assessment in place, but all agree that using this circuit makes for a more exciting race.

I only have 3 helpers next week so without another 3 we cannot extend the race outside the bowl again. Please let me know if you can help. Thank you, see you next week, hopefully it will be a warmer night.
