Ron Day Memorial – MK Bowl (10)

The Ron Day Memorial MK Bowl races – Race 10 -16th July 2024 (Sponsored by Church Lane Creative).

The rain held off and it turned out to be a lovely evening for our last but one race tonight. Huge thanks to our wonderful helpers who all turned out to enable us to run the race outside the gates into the east car park after 30 mins racing inside.

A very small bunch of 6 riders started the ABCD race, strong men Martin Quill and Michael DArcy made a break leaving the rest of the bunch spread out individually, all riding time trials. It was a great sprint finish, won by Martin.

The EFGH race mainly stayed together tonight with a close bunch sprint between the Stewart boys, James and Paul at the end which was won by James.

Congratulations to all our winners.

Tonight was the last qualifying night for our Ron Day Memorial cup sponsored by Church Lane Creative and our Points series sponsored by Corley Cycles and The Bike Bus.

Presentation for these to take place on the start line at 6.45pm next week.

Next week is sadly is our last race this season due to concerts at the bowl.

I am looking for help next week with marshalling please if you can help, please contact me. Thank you

Ron Day Memorial – MK Bowl (9)

The Ron Day Memorial MK Bowl races – Race 9 -9th July 2024 (Sponsored by Church Lane Creative).

A damp night saw 5 ABCD riders and 15 EFGH riders race around the inner bowl tonight.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the event by riding.

The ABCD race split after the prime lap which was won by Michael DArcy who kept going to take a huge lead and win overall. He was chased hard by Martin Quill who then went back to the remaining 3 riders with 1 lap to go but then won the sprint taking 2nd overall.

The EFGH race mainly stayed together with a small group riding off the back together tonight. The prime and race was won by a ‘strong as ever’ James Stewart with Martin Fisher 2nd.

Congratulations to all our winners.

2 more races to go this season with next week being the last week to qualify for points towards the championship.

I still need helpers for the next two weeks please so if you haven’t helped yet and you can, please contact me. Thank you
