Wind Splitters Derby Track Series

Presented by Rutland Lighting & Cancer Research

Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the riders who have ridden the track at Derby throughout 2019, it truly was an exceptional year! Your personal performances were staggering at National level and as it turns out, it rolled over to World level as well. A huge congratulations to all the medallists on all fronts, simply remarkable. The new series will be starting again on the 16th of January, all events are already on Rider HQ. Your presence is once again required.

Due to popular demand, I have split the racing nights this year, so that there are some on the normal Thursday evenings, and the remainder on a Saturday night. Just in case you have been on a different planet and missed all the announcements. Anyone wanting to ride, who live an unmanageable distance for a week night, you know have your opportunity to pitch your fitness and speed against some of the fastest masters in the world, male and female! So we all look forward to receiving you in the new season.

Finally, on behalf of the Wind Splitters team at Derby, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and have great healthy New Year! See you all then…

Rob Muzio

Dear members, from John Ginley:
STALLARD O60’S SERIES 2020 DATES AND DATA O6O (E) & O65 (FGH) and Women’s series.Following the recent notice from Mike Jackson I’m pleased to provide a table showing the events and dates for the new O60’s Stallard series. Each event in the series will have 2 races an E race and an FGH & W (women’s) race. Depending on type or organiser they may start at normal minute(s) intervals or be separate races. The series presently comprises 11 events with the possibility of a further event in the pipeline.Firstly, I must express sincere gratitude to the organisers and club/bodies for promoting and including these events in the series.

Two of the organisers and clubs are actually promoting both O40’s Stallard and O60’s plus another event from Mike Avery and VC Sevale. Mike’s event also includes a separate Women’s championship Road Race and we hope this event plus the O60’s series will encourage more female participation. The Organisers for road events will provide a minimum of 30 places for each race and where police limits allow up to 40.Points for the series will now go down to 10th place in each round. Your best 8 rounds will count, and you’ll have to ride a minimum of 6 rounds to count towards a series overall position.May I also like Mike thank our long term sponsor of the series Ken Jones & Chris Spencer of Onimpex BioRacer UK are going to continue to their amazing support with both series. When Don initiated the O65 series it was to encourage more O65’s to continue racing well hopefully with the increased number of events it will encourage ALL O60’s plus women to take part. Look forward to seeing large fields in 2020 Finally would organisers kindly ensure the RIDER HQ entry includes a title ‘Stallard O60 series event’. and the O65 event includes FGH&W (women) – Entry fee is set at £20.
