| Dear Member We are now at the stage of planning for the publication of 2020 BMCR Handbook. This is labour intensive (all voluntary), expensive to print and distribute and not environmentally friendly. There is a survey on the Facebook BMCR Riders group page asking if you would prefer to stay with the paper version or use the new web site (to be launched in a few weeks), RiderHQ and the BMCR Riders Facebook page. If you vote to NOT continue with the paper version you can rest assured ALL the information contained therein now will be available on the new web site. This note is to draw the survey to you attention and ask you to vote. The closing date is Friday 1st November. The NEC will act on the majority decision. You have been consulted. Thanks in anticipation for voting. Yours Don Parry NEC Member |

Percy Stallard 2020
NOTICE: The Percy Stallard series 2020
Dear members, I’m pleased to announced that the Percy Stallard National Series will again return next season but with a few (for the better) changes.
Due to the popularity of the series and in some Regions the restriction in field sizes, gaining entry into the events has in some cases been problematic for riders, especially in the bigger B & C/D fields.
So with this in mind, we have taken the decision to split the races out with the current O65 series becoming the Percy Stallard series for categories E-F-G-H and Women’s. Dates for these events are still being finalised by series co ordinator John Ginley and we hope to announce them shorty.
The Percy Stallard series for A/B & C/D as now grown to 9 rounds for 2020, and points for the series will now go down to 10th place in each round. Your best 7 rounds will count and you’ll have to ride a minimum of 5 rounds to count towards a series overall position.
I’m also very pleased to say that long term sponsor of the series Ken Jones & Chris Spencer of Onimpex BioRacer UK are going to continue to their amazing support with both series. And a quick thank you to all the organisers and clubs that have committed to bringing you these races next season.
The A/B & C/D series dates are:
Round One – 15.3.20 The Flèche Waltone – Leicestershire
Round Two – 19.4.20 The Tour of Atwood – Buckinghamshire
Round three – 10.5.20 The White Peak RR – Derbyshire
Round four – 17.5.20 The Vic Sutton Memorial RR – Yorkshire
Round Five – 7.6.20 The Enville RR – Staffordshire
Round Six – 21.6.20 Stratford Road Club RR – Warwickshire
Round Seven – 19.7.20 The Six Hills RR – Leicestershire
Round Eight – 26.7.20 The Elmshall RC RR – Yorkshire
Round Nine – 13.9.20 (and final round for ALL categories, and prize presentation) St Ives/Plastribution RR – Cambridgeshire
These events will be on RiderHQ within the next couple of weeks.
Regards
Mike Jackson
Tour of the Abberleys
The Tour of the Abberleys stage race has always been held on the first bank holiday week-end in May, but next year the May Day bank holiday has been moved to Friday of the second week-end to form part of a VE Day anniversary week-end. Having considered several options for the Abberleys, the outcome is that it will be held as a 2-day stage race on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May. Saturday will comprise a short Prologue TT and 42-mile road stage as usual. On Sunday there will be an extended stage of over 60 miles on a challenging new course (shorter for the over 60s). HQ will be Great Witley village hall again and we’ll have the support of the Midland Bike Marshals
