PLANNED BMCR TRACK EVENT AT NEWPORT VELODROME

Following a positive response to the recent FB poll, we were planning to run a one-day event of group training and timed solo rides in November at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome. However, recent additional restrictions in Wales, and the local restrictions for Newport (particularly the ban on travel into and out of the area) now make this impossible. If things go well, these local measures could be lifted in a months time, but this is far from certain.

We have therefore decided to put plans for this event on hold. If it becomes possible to run the event in late November e.g. Saturday 28th, we will publicise it with at least 3 weeks notice.

First BMCR 4444 Challenge Results published

The first two members have submitted results for the 4444 Challenge and these can be seen on the Results page.

Congratulations to both riders. Lee Messenger’s 6 hours 28 for the full 4444 looks like an especially hard challenge for the As and Bs to beat!

Further results will be published weekly on the Results page.

He raised a lot of money for his chosen charity the Community Rescue Service. BMCR announce its own version as something to focus on during these days without racing.
